FAQ

DO YOU SERVE HALAL?

We are aware of Halal customers, much like we are aware of Vegetarian and Vegan customers. Due to the strict policy with Halal, we do not keep our meat products near any other products in storage. All of our meat products are not suitable for Halal customers as well as some ingredients. To see the full list of what is and is not suitable for Halal, please check our Allergens & Dietary Requirements page which has a section stipulating this in more detail.

The base of our Sushi is made to be suitable for Halal, Vegetarian and Vegans.

Sushi is traditionally made with Sake Rice Wine and Katsuobushi Bonito Flakes, which we do not add to our recipes to ensure that our Sushi is suitable for everyone.

Our Ramen is made with Pork, Beef, Chicken and Fish products. This is not suitable for Halal, Vegetarians or Vegans.

I AM ON A SPECIFIC DIET, WHAT CAN I ORDER?

Our best advice, is to give us a call, explain the diet you have (e.g. Low-Sodium), and we will advise you on how to move forward with your order, we may have to delay your order if your requirements mean we may need to alter our recipe to make it suitable for you.

CAN WE DINE-IN?

We work in a "Dark Kitchen" environment, this means that we are located in a private residence, where you are unable to Dine-In, however we do offer Collection & Delivery options for all our customers, so while you may not be able to dine-in at our current location, you are able to enjoy our Food from anywhere you want, be it at home, work or out and about.

SHOYU OR SOY?

There are 3 popular variations of Soy:

- Light

- Dark

- Tamari (Gluten-Free, Japanese)

We have Tamari available on our menu and it is the only Soy Sauce we use to ensure the product remains Gluten-Free for our customers. Tamari is then used to make Shoyu Dipping Sauce. Shoyu Dipping Sauce is a traditional Japanese sauce that is provided for Sushi, it is slightly different in taste, consistency and clarity to Tamari Soy. Although, it is not to everyone's tastes and it is why we offer Tamari on the menu, if you wish to substitute your Shoyu for Tamari Soy then please request this on your order with us.

IS SUSHI SAFE TO EAT?

Yes, provided you get your Sushi from a reputable company, we have discussed with the Food Standards Agency regarding all safe-guarding with our Sushi, everything is logged, our ingredients come from reputable suppliers, our fish is freeze-treated for a minimum of 24 hours at -20 Celsius. Our rice has to be pH tested for every batch and logged to ensure that the acidity of the rice is within the parameters, it is also chilled within 90 minutes as well along with all other hot foods we make.

Do your research of the business you are buying from before you order Sushi from somewhere.

WHY DOES MY SUSHI CONTAIN CRUSTACEANS/SHELLFISH/MOLLUSCS EVEN THOUGH IT IS VEGETARIAN?

The Kelp & Roasted Seaweed we are supplied with, is grown in areas where these species of marine wildlife habitat, they co-exist within the Kelp/Seaweed and unfortunately we are unable to prevent that contamination so as such, our Sushi will always come with this labelling.

WILL THERE BE EXTRA CHARGES ON MY CARD IF I CHOOSE TO PAY WITH IT?

TRADITIONAL OR NON-TRADITIONAL

Our products are focused on being as close to traditional as possible. You will see a few non-traditional options on our Menu, this is simply because we have customers that do not enjoy Fish products, but still enjoy the taste of Sushi. We won't be expanding the non-traditional side of our Menu, Uramaki is a Western Sushi and is not traditional.

WILL THE MENU CHANGE OR EXPAND?

We are always aiming to improve our products and selection of products. If you have a suggestion you would like to see then please let us know and we will see what we can do about it.

I AM VEGAN, HOW DO I ORDER?

Much like the same way you order if you have food allergies, notify us in the Order Form, or on the phone with us, and our trained staff can guide you on which Sushi are suitable for Vegans or for a specific allergen, All our base parts of Sushi was designed around Vegans so we are able to actually to remove an ingredient or two from our Vegetarian options and they become suitable for Vegans.

When you have placed your order, our chef will make the Sushi based on your requirements and when packaging the Sushi up, the order will be marked to highlight it from the other Sushi, so during delivery, the driver will notify you of which Sushi are which and you will be able to enjoy your Sushi with confidence while your family, friends or colleagues enjoy some of our other Sushi.

HOW MANY PIECES OF SUSHI ARE IN A ROLL?

Whichever Sushi you order will give different amounts of pieces depending the type of Sushi.

Makizushi ( Futomaki, Uramaki, Chumaki, Hosomaki ) will provide you with 1 roll that gets divided into 8 pieces on your order.

Nigiri will provide you with 1 piece of Nigiri.

HOW MUCH DO I ORDER?

Our customers are all different, not everyone eats the same amount, and it depends on what you are eating as well with it. If you are having this as a lunchtime meal, we would usually say that the best choice is a Makizushi option, they are larger than the other Sushi choices. However, if this is for an evening meal, then the average customer usually will order 1 Makizushi and 1 Hosomaki.
